If you had crushed the Islamic Republican Guard Corps in April; then, in all likelihood:
· You would be campaigning in Swing States instead of tying to prop up endangered Republicans
· Hormuz would be open today
· You would not be licking mud off Putin’s boots
· The evil Iranian regime would be struggling to survive if not overthrown
· Tens of thousands of murdered Iranians would still be alive
· Gas and diesel would be abundant and priced reasonably
Regarding the fact that “Ukraine has not given us anything,” Foreign Policy decisions are not real estate deals! You seem to have forgotten the run-up to and the first few months of the Second World War. In 1940, would you have told Churchill to make a deal with Hitler? Perhaps Britain would only cede the beaches in the English Channel to Hitler. That’s a better deal than the one you tried to force on Ukraine over a year ago and again recently! Just give Putin all he demands—essentially unconditional surrender with a fig-leaf. Not really a good deal.
