Responding to Iran and the Houthis

If America had a Commander-in-Chief instead of a Pussyfooter-in-Chief, Iran would no longer have a functioning drone factory or a functioning Ballistic Missile factory! Instead, President Biden has allowed Iranian proxies to attack American land forces, Navy ships, Israel, and merchant ships of many nations without any meaningful retaliation.

After commentator after commentator has asked why the President has not responded more forcefully to Iranian attacks on Americans that must by now number over 100, President Biden has assembled a force of naval vessels who will shoot down $10 thousand drones with $2.5 Million missiles!

One of the best and most knowledgeable commentators, retired Four-Star General Jack Keane, has advocated striking high-value targets of the Iranian Republican Guard Corps (IRGC). Perhaps the most valuable targets to Iran, if not the IRGC per se, are the aforementioned drone and ballistic missile factories. Destroying those factories will put a serious crimp in the ability of Iranian Proxies to launch drones and ballistic missiles at anyone.

Here is how a Commander-in-Chief might have responded to the first attack on an American naval ship:
  • Destroy the aforementioned drone and missile factories
  • During the announcement of the factory attacks, announce that going forward the United States will hold Iran responsible for the actions of its proxies
  • Reimpose all of the sanctions President Trump imposed to significantly throttle Iran
While direct attacks on important IRGC facilities well might deter Iran, I suspect that the actions recommended above would do so much more effectively. Of course, the most valuable target to the Iranian Government would likely be their nuclear weapons facilities; of course, we know that President Biden would never hit those. After all, he went above and beyond to fund those facilities—see the underlined word above. But perhaps I digress.

Comments welcome.
